MARIA RITTER'S GALLERY l OLD CITY INTERIORS are exhibitions occupying four rooms on the first floor of the historic Ritter tenement house (turn of the 18th and 19th centuries) at the intersection of the Market Square and ul. Jagiellońska. In the first room there is a monographic exhibition of paintings by the outstanding painter from Nowy Sącz, Maria Ritterówna (1899-1976) and elements of her studio's equipment (workshop materials). The "green" corner living room has the character of a 19th-century Biedermeier interior; from the 20th century, there are only portraits by Maria Ritterówna. The next, white living room with a playing music box introduces the atmosphere of old apartments. It is equipped with light furniture, appliances and paintings, e.g. canvases by Feliks Hanusz, one of the first painters from Nowy Sącz with an academic education. The exhibition closes with a bedroom in the style of Ludwik Filip with Viennese portraits of the painter's grandparents - Feliks and Józefa Ritter. Many family heirlooms and exhibits from this tenement house and other houses in Nowy Sącz were used to decorate the interior.
