The book 'Museum in Nowy Sącz' is now available

Leszek Migrała, a historian and publicist from Nowy Sącz, has undertaken a difficult task - to gather in a compendium the multi-threaded activity of the Sądecka museum from its establishment on 17 May 1909 and the official opening in the castle on 12 August 1938 to 2024, when the institution was restored to its original name - Muzeum Ziemi Sądeckiej. The book has just been published and is available for free distribution. Interested parties can contact the Education Department of the Muzeum Ziemi Sądeckiej (tel. 18 443 77 08).
At the beginning, the author mentions people who, by devoting themselves to their passion for collecting, contributed to the crystallization of the idea of ​​establishing an institution that would collect and protect mementos from the past of the region. The noble idea and various efforts matured for decades and materialized in unstable times, just a year before the outbreak of the greatest war in history. What happened to the collections later, how did the Nowy Sącz museum develop over the next nine decades? We refer you to this interesting book.
