Description

Cross of the Order of the White Eagle according to the pattern from 1921.
In terms of precedence, the first Polish civil and military decoration, established by King August II the Strong at the Tykocin Castle on November 1, 1705. O. O. B. Cross of the Maltese type by. model from 1921, designed by Mieczysław Kotarbiński (January 3, 1890 – May 27, 1943), a painter, graphic artist, author of many decorations.

The O. O. B. cross has slightly convex arms, covered with red enamel with a white edge. In the center of the cross is a crowned white eagle with heraldic head turned to the right. Golden bundles of rays between the arms. On the reverse, the surface of the gold cross, slightly convex, with the inscription: FOR THE HOMELAND AND THE NATION. At the intersection of the arms, a white shield with the golden initial "RP" surrounded by a green oak wreath.



On June 17, 1934, Bronisław Wilhelm Pieracki (May 28, 1895 – June 15, 1934) was posthumously awarded the Order of the White Eagle (the copy described here, which is in the collection of the District Museum in Nowy Sącz) Minister of the Interior in the government of Aleksander Prystor.
