Scientific conference "Traces. Consciousness - Memory - Interpretation"

The 50th anniversary of the Sądecki Ethnographic Park, which falls in 2025, was an opportunity to both revisit the history of the open-air museum and engage in scholarly discussion about how we research and preserve what history has left us. The invitation to participate in the conference, titled "Traces: Awareness - Memory - Interpretation," was accepted by university academics, museum professionals—ethnographers and cultural anthropologists—as well as representatives of foundations, institutions, and associations, as well as independent researchers of tangible and intangible cultural heritage. On September 15th, the conference took place in the representative hall of the town hall in Miasteczko Galicyjskie, followed the next day by a research tour in the footsteps of the Lemkos and Jews. Conference participants visited the synagogue and the Landau House Museum in Bobowa. In Krynica, they learned about the history of the spa town and viewed Nikifor's works at the Nikifor Museum. The tour ended in Powroźnik, where they visited the Orthodox Church of St. James the Apostle.
