March 1 National Remembrance Day of the Cursed Soldiers

On March 1, the memory of the steadfast Soldiers who fought for a free Poland against the communist regime was honored throughout the country. It is estimated that about 120,000 people were active in the underground patriotic movement, in all underground organizations and groups. Many of them lost their lives at the hands of the security services. Today, Poles remember the cursed by organizing patriotic demonstrations on March 1, laying candles and flowers in places related to independence activities and under commemorative plaques. It was similar in Nowy Sącz. The Museum of the Sądecka Region was represented by the director, an employee delegation and members of the Museum Council.
