September meetings on scientific issues and museums with the connection of the Museum of the Sądecka Region

The first one took place in Lower Silesia, in Kudowa-Zdrój and Pstrążna and on the Czech side. As part of the 17th International Forum of House Museums entitled "Small, community and private museums - problems and proposals" were primarily expressed by the owners of such collections themselves.  Lectures and
Forum participants learned about the Benedictine monks' collections in Police nad Metují, the Alois Jirásek House - Museum and the papermaking center in Hronowo, the city museum in Jaroměř, the Josefov Fortress and the home museum of motorcycles and toys in Szestajowice near Jaromierz. The owner of this museum personally presented his collections, including: almost all models of "Jawa" - a motorcycle produced since 1929 in Czechoslovakia and still popular in the Czech Republic. Improving the accessibility of museums was also discussed. The last, summarizing part of the meeting took place on September 22 in the Open-Air Museum in Pstrążna, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary.

We managed to implement the Forum program despite the crisis situation in the region and at least support the local economy, which is based on tourism - Kudowa-Zdrój did not suffer from floods and is still waiting for tourists.

A week later, on September 27, a scientific conference entitled "Museum roots under Babia Góra" was held in Zawoja, accompanying the "40. Babiogórska Jesień in Zawoja. The conference was designed in such a way that, after reading papers on private collections and institutions supporting non-public museums, we could discuss the increasingly popular trend of establishing and running "home museums". The topic is becoming more and more popular in Małopolska. The meeting organizers assume that, above all, owners of valuable private collections will find tips for themselves and feel support for their activities.
