Results of the 25th Competition "The Sądecka Region from the Past to the Present"

Forty-three students from 20 schools in the Nowy Sącz region participated in the third stage of the 25th edition of the historical knowledge competition "Ziemia Sądecka from the Past to the Present," held this year as part of the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the railway in Nowy Sącz. Grand Prix awards were given to Jan Petryszak from School and Kindergarten Complex No. 5 in Nowy Sącz (for his work "The Man from the Tracks of Freedom - Ryszard Mędlarski") and Karol Frączek from Władysław Orkan High School No. 1 in Limanowa (for his work "Radio Kolej Nowy Sącz").
The jury that evaluated the entries included: Jakub Bulzak (1st High School in Nowy Sącz, Association of Nowy Sącz Citizens); Elżbieta Wańczyk (School and Kindergarten Complex No. 5 in Nowy Sącz); Katarzyna Popiel (School and Kindergarten Complex No. 5 in Nowy Sącz); Leszek Migrała (Museum of the Sądecka Region, Catholic Association "Civitas Christiana" in Nowy Sącz); Anna Wideł (Chairwoman, Museum of the Sądecka Region); Daniel Lachor (Museum of the Sądecka Region), Piotr Mikołajczyk (Museum of the Sądecka Region).

The competition was organized by the Museum of the Sądecka Region in cooperation with the 1st High School with Bilingual Departments named after Jan Długosz High School in Nowy Sącz, School and Kindergarten Complex No. 5 in Nowy Sącz, the Catholic Association "Civitas Christiana" in Nowy Sącz, the "DLA MIASTA" Association in Nowy Sącz, the Association of Nowy Sącz Residents, and the Polish Historical Society, Nowy Sącz Branch.

The closing ceremony of the competition, including the award ceremony, took place on June 2, 2026, in the Main Building of the Sądecki Region Museum.
