Polish Armed Forces Day 2026

On August 15th, we invited the residents of Nowy Sącz to join us in celebrating Polish Armed Forces Day. We gathered in the market square of the Galician Town, where the program featured historical reenactment displays, presentations of Polish Army and Border Guard weaponry, a historical lecture, knightly combat demonstrations, educational workshops, and board games. That day, we also opened a fascinating exhibition in the Town Hall gallery dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the railway’s launch in Nowy Sącz. It was developed by Leszek Zakrzewski and prepared by a team of museum specialists led by Beata Wierzbicka. At the open-air cinema, we screened the cult classic film *How I Unleashed World War II* by T. Chmielewski, preceded by a talk given by Jakub Bulzak.

We sincerely thank everyone who attended in such large numbers.

We extend special thanks to our event partners: the Kraków Branch of the Institute of National Remembrance, the 5th Command Regiment in Kraków, the Carpathian Border Guard Unit in Nowy Sącz, the Military Recruitment Centre in Nowy Sącz, the Sącz Knightly Association of the Order of Duchess Kinga, the Atut Training Center, and the railway workers of Nowy Sącz.
