Deep Space and Reach the Galaxy – two space-themed days at the Firefighting Museum in Alwernia

On behalf of the organizer—the Małopolska Firefighting Museum in Alwernia (a branch of the Museum of Western Małopolska in Wygiełzów)—we invite you to a two-day event (October 16–17, 2026) dedicated to space. The program features an astrophotography exhibition opening, a film music concert, workshops for children and adults, and Project JEDI demonstrations.
Friday evening, October 16, will kick off at 6:00 PM with the opening of the group exhibition "Distant Space" (*Odległa Przestrzeń*). Marek Setlak, Łukasz Peszek, Marek Kukliński, Robert Kaja, and Jakub Kaja will showcase their night-sky photography. Astrophotography is a field requiring patience, quality equipment, and many hours spent under the open sky—often in the dead of night and far from city lights.

At the same time—6:00 PM—space-themed art workshops titled "Create Your Own Dream Planet – Let’s Create the Cosmos Together" will begin on the museum's first floor. At 6:45 PM, Donata Wiącek and Alexandra Szczepanik will perform a concert of film music, followed by a "Project JEDI" show in the amphitheater at 7:30 PM. Admission to the exhibition opening and the museum is free on this day.

Saturday, October 17, will be a day for families. The "Reach the Galaxy" (*Dosięgnij Galaktyki*) program begins at 11:00 AM with a meeting featuring Project Jedi and MD Custom Design. The founders of Project Jedi will talk about the Order that guarded the balance of the Galaxy for millennia, while the owners of MD Custom Design—a company that manufactures and sells custom accessories for LEGO® bricks and figures—will discuss their work. From 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM, JAKDESIGN will lead "Space Collages" art workshops, and starting at... From 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM, FamilyGal will host LEGO® building activities titled "Imagination Reaches the Galaxy." The day will conclude with a Project JEDI demonstration from 4:30 PM to 5:00 PM. Participation in the workshops is free; standard museum admission fees apply.

The event is organized by the Museum of Western Małopolska in Wygiełzów, the Małopolska Firefighting Museum in Alwernia, JAKDESIGN, and FamilyGal.
