About pre-war sport in the Nowy Sącz region

The topic of the lesson is to show the perception of sport before World War I and II, the beginnings the development of individual disciplines and societies that popularized the activity and presentation of the first successes and failures of Nowy Sącz in the arena nationwide. The people of Nowy Sącz did not realize the importance of care for a long time about physical vigor, changes in this matter took place in the second half of the nineteenth century with the introduction compulsory gymnastics classes for all folk and high schools throughout Austria. It was schools that gave rise to the history of physical education and sports in Nowy Sącz. During the partitions, the fact also began to be noticed that playing together, doing exercises, cycling or rowing trips meet educational role, and they can unite, and this is for Poles living at that time was an important factor.
