Exhibition "Janusz Bronisław Sroka. Painting"
We invite you to the Town Hall Gallery in the Galician Town for an exhibition of paintings by Janusz Bronisław Sroka.
Janusz Bronisław Sroka was born on July 11, 1961. He paints as an amateur, having no artistic training. His passion for art was instilled in him as a child by his grandfather, Romuald Reguła, a painter from Nowy Sącz who settled in Kraków after World War II. It was under his tutelage that Janusz Sroka first acquired his painting skills. He considers the time spent with his grandfather, a mentor and a great influence, exceptional and incredibly valuable.
In painting, he is most interested in landscapes, and within them, fleeting impressions and atmospheric moments, which Janusz Bronisław Sroka strives to capture and convey. To this end, he immortalizes them in photographs and then transfers them to canvas. He composes his works using fine, dense brushstrokes, which he believes enhance perspective and build the structure of the paintings. He captures the changing seasons with extraordinary precision – from lush, green meadows in spring to snowy landscapes bleached by sunlight. His favorite motifs include mountain landscapes and forest interiors, often in their colorful autumnal colors.
He prefers large-format paintings, which allow for the inclusion of numerous details and elements that create a pictorial whole. Janusz Sroka has not previously shown his works to a wider audience, and this exhibition is his first. It will feature paintings from both his early period and those completed more recently. Janusz Sroka lives in Krakow, is married, and has two adult children.
