17th International Iconography Workshop in Nowina

The Association of Friends of Nowica and the Sądecka Land Museum invite you to an exhibition of contemporary icons at the 17th International Icon Workshop in Nowica "Blessing"
The main theme of the 17th International Icon Workshop in Nowina was "Blessing." The painters approached the titular motif in a biblical spirit, as a gift from God, a sign of His presence and power, but also of hope, especially where it is most difficult to find: in suffering, fear, and during war. The works evoke biblical scenes, a search for God in the difficult realities of everyday life, and a reflection on the traumatic experience of modernity. The work by Sviatoslav Vladyka, a long-time workshop participant, is symbolic, created on the front lines. The artist painted an icon on an armor plate, transforming wartime debris into an image of prayer and hope, a sign of spiritual presence and peace.

The icons presented in the catalog are works of art and testimonies of faith. They remind us that even in the darkest times, God is present with His blessing, and art can become a tool for transforming hearts.
