General Information
The Main Building - the seat of the Museum of Nowy Sącz land - since 2018, it has been located in the historic building of the former Austro-Hungarian Bank. The exhibition part is located on the 1st floor, it consists of a representative room for changing exhibitions, meetings and concerts, rooms with a historical exhibition about the history of Nowy Sącz in the years 1867-1945 (times of Galician autonomy, wars and the interwar period) and a room showing a studio with paintings by the famous painter from Nowy Sącz, Bolesław Barbacki. There is also an education room on this floor. The entire zone is also accessible to people in wheelchairs thanks to the elevator. The lower storey is occupied by studios and offices, and the lowest one is occupied by a reception and cash register room and exhibit storage.
Access, parking
Access to the Museum is possible by car and by many public transport lines - a bus stop (Jagiellońska Planty or Aleja Wolności) is located 190 m from the Main Building.

Surroundings of the museum
The building is located directly at Jagiellońska Street. The main entrance from the pavement is preceded by a 10 cm threshold. If necessary, museum employees provide a side entrance located at the back of the building. Access to the side entrance directly from the sidewalk at Jagiellońska Street. The side entrance leads directly to the ticket office, the ramps are equipped with handrails, the entrance is free of architectural barriers. There is a summoning bell at the main entrance door.
Ticket office
The ticket office is on the right after entering the building on level -1. Stairs lead down to it. People with physical disabilities can use the stair platform or enter the side entrance equipped with a ramp leading directly to the ticket office.
The cash and information point is a bright, large space, equipped with a high counter, behind which there are cloakrooms. In front of the ticket office there are stands with information about the prices of sightseeing tickets. Next to the counter is a bookcase with souvenirs and books for purchase. The cashier provides basic information about sightseeing. It goes out to the visitor if necessary. It also rents magnifying films to facilitate sightseeing for seniors and visually impaired people. Your guide is waiting for you in the ticket office. Stairs or an elevator lead to the exhibition area.
The cash and information point is a bright, large space, equipped with a high counter, behind which there are cloakrooms. In front of the ticket office there are stands with information about the prices of sightseeing tickets. Next to the counter is a bookcase with souvenirs and books for purchase. The exhibitions contain clear descriptions of the exhibits, which additionally facilitates navigating through the exhibitions. No architectural barriers for people with locomotor disabilities, seniors and parents with children.

The toilet
The toilet adapted for people with disabilities is located in the corridor behind the ticket office on the left. There is a driveway from the cash register to the elevator and toilets. The second toilet adapted for people with disabilities is located on the 2nd floor next to the education room. The toilet is equipped with a paging system.
Information for families with young children
The space is fully adapted to families with children. The main entrance to the building is located from Jagiellońska Street. Entrance for parents with a pram on the side of the building. The summoning bell is located at the main door.
Entrance to the exhibition by stairs or by elevator from level -1 from the ticket office and information room. It is possible to leave clothes, prams or backpacks at the ticket office. At the ticket office and information point, a guide is waiting with whom you can visit the exhibition space. Individual visits are also possible. For families with children, coloring books with exhibits located in the exhibition space have been prepared.
At the moment, we do not have a changing table in the Museum building.

Information for seniors
At the ticket office, you can rent magnifying films to facilitate reading the texts on the exhibition and viewing the exhibits.
At the ticket office and information point there is a guide - the curator of the collections, who takes visitors to the exhibition halls by stairs or elevator. Seats were placed on the exhibition in the temporary exhibition hall. Chairs with armrests can be arranged if required.
In order to broaden the knowledge about the objects presented at the exhibition, it is possible to purchase a guidebook and other items related to the history of the city at the museum's ticket office.

Information for people with reduced mobility, including people with mobility disabilities.
The main entrance from the pavement is preceded by a 10 cm threshold, a summoning bell is mounted at the door. Alternative access is located at the back of the building, access directly from the pavement at Jagiellońska Street. The pavement and access to the rear door are paved with paving stones. The door opens to the right outwards. Inside, ramps with handrails have been prepared, thanks to which you can get directly to the ticket office and the elevator connected to the exhibition. The guide waiting in the ticket office will call the elevator and take you to the exhibition area.
In order to ensure free entry to the museum, we suggest using the summoning bell located next to the main entrance or inform us about your arrival by calling 18 443 77 08 ext. 129.
The exhibition space is fully accessible, the lack of architectural barriers allows you to move freely along the communication route between the rooms. Access to some showcases, drawers, screens or exhibits may be difficult for people in wheelchairs, this is due to the construction solutions of the installed displays.

The main entrance from the pavement is preceded by a 10 cm threshold, on the outer wall next to the entrance on the right side there is a summoning bell. On the right side there is a staircase down to the cash register. The stairs have 4 steps, there is a handrail on the left side.
The ticket office and information point is on the left. A price list in Braille has been prepared. Each visitor can leave a jacket or a backpack at the ticket office.
For the visually impaired, magnifying foils are available for rent at the ticket office.
Sightseeing takes place with a guide - the custodian of the collection, who is waiting for you at the ticket office. The entrance to the exhibition leads up the stairs or with the elevator.
The exhibition space has artificial lighting. Audio descriptions and sensory materials, such as copies of uniforms, replicas of costumes and tactile charts, have been prepared for selected exhibits.
It is possible to book a visit with the person responsible for coordinating accessibility, who performs live audio descriptions. Please book at least two weeks before the planned visit date at 605 289 154

Regulations of conduct for visitors in the event of evacuation
Upon making a decision to evacuate from the premises or premises of the Museum, all persons staying in the Museum are obliged to listen to messages regarding further proceedings, and above all:
After the alarm is triggered and the evacuation from the Museum is announced, you are obliged to comply with the instructions of the person in charge of the evacuation operation and to cooperate with them.
The evacuation operation is managed by a Museum employee with an ID card or a firefighter.
If you are evacuating in a group led by an assistant, also follow his instructions.
Notify other people in the room (or in the surrounding area) about the nature of the threat and the need to evacuate.
Museum employees help people with disabilities in efficient evacuation until the arrival of specialized units of the State Fire Service.
Escape routes and emergency exits in the facilities are marked with green signs. These signs are lit for about 2 hours in the event of a failure of the basic lighting and will show you the direction of evacuation.
Follow these signs for the shortest route to the nearest stairwell or exit directly outside the facility.
If you are not in the zone directly affected by the fire and cannot evacuate yourself, wait for the Museum employee to come and help you during the evacuation.
The first to evacuate are people with limited mobility, people requiring the help of an assistant, e.g. people in wheelchairs, blind, deaf or elderly people unable to evacuate on their own.
People from the rooms where the fire started are also the first to evacuate.
Priority is also given to people who are in rooms that are in the way of the fire spreading.
If you are evacuating in a group, make sure that people who can move on their own are at the end of the group.
If your evacuation route is blocked, immediately contact a Museum employee with the available means (e.g. by phone).

If you are on the exhibition, on the first floor, remember that in the event of a fire, the elevator will be closed.
