"Light, Shadow, Form. Łukasz Owsianka"
We invite you to the world of imagination of Łukasz Owsianka, a photographer from Nowy Sącz. As he himself says - searching for his own path, he discovered studio photography and its unlimited possibilities of creating images according to his own rules. The effects of this discovery can be seen by visiting the Town Hall Gallery in the Galician Town.
Photography has always been my passion. Initially, I was fascinated by its technical aspect, but over time I also began to appreciate the artistic dimension. I was delighted by the possibility of expressing myself through – seemingly – simple recording of the surrounding reality on photographic film.
Over time, however, this was no longer enough for me as a creator. Searching for my own path, I discovered studio photography and its unlimited possibilities of creating images according to my own rules. As a self-taught artist, I understood that it is the emotions and reflections that the image awakens in the eye of the beholder that are the greatest value – both in photography and in other fields of visual arts.
Adding to this the pursuit of high quality, the constant need for self-improvement and a pinch of an unconventional approach, I created my own mobile photography studio, equipped with a large-format camera. I love this equipment for its almost unlimited creative possibilities, despite many obvious technical limitations.
In this way, I became an advocate of the idea of slow, conscious photography, requiring focus and presence.
