Meeting with Ewa Mańkowska - author of the book "Hanna and Dorota"
On February 21, 2025, a meeting with Ewa Mańkowska, author of the book entitled "Hanna and Dorota". It is a novel about the friendship of two painters, Hanna Rudzka-Cybisowa and Dorota Seydenman, associated with the Kapist painting group.
The novel repeatedly mentions the figure of Maria Ritter, an artist from Nowy Sącz, a friend of both heroines, who was associated with the Kapists for some time, and the city itself became the place of the tragic death of Dorota Seydenman. The author was the first to reliably recreate the course of these events, and the priceless materials she found during her research in Nowy Sącz were the result of exceptional coincidences.
The meeting was led by our colleague, Justyna Stasiek-Harabin, an art historian from the Art Department of the Sądecka Region Museum.
